We bought gift cards for food for my college student. As she had NO groceries. The store screwed it up by never actually activating them! I had to spend a day and a half proving that we bought them then the woman named Deb at the store kept giving me the run around. When I asked about calling to get them activated she hemmed and hawed saying it's hard to get through, and takes too long to call. Guess fixing their mistake was too much work for her. So then I called, they said they COULD do it but they need information from the store to be sent to them. I called Deb again, who left two messages saying she called them and they said they couldn't help. I then informed her that it was NOT what they told me and suddenly she acted helpful! Wasting another day with me on the phone back and forth instead of just doing as I asked and faxing information. It's now three days later, and we are driving 3 hours to pay MORE money to get the kid groceries. So a $40 card is costing us now $70. I will NEVER shop here again. Deb does as little as she possibly can for her job and that Katelynn at the register obviously does NOT know her job. At all. Over all, the store does just enough to skate by and screw the customers if there's a problem.

The prices are phenomenal, the staff is eager to help, the only problem is that there's never enough staff to have an adequate number of checkout lines open

What do you expect, it's a Save-A-Lot. That means there is low overhead, less-than-clean presentation and non-recognizable brands. But, this means really low prices. I give this 4/5 stars simply because it is a little hard to find because it is set back on the lot from where the actual sign is located. My personal recommendation: avoid buying produce from Save-A-Lot. I have tried to make it work several times, but it truly is sub par. Just go down the road to the Family Fare if you need produce.

This is a place I don't go often. I come here for quick pick ups when meijer or family fare is just too far. I'm don't buy produce from here unless I use it that day. I never buy meat from here because when I have, I have never walked out with good meat.

I save so much money buying my groceries here. Either they have good prices on well known brands, or they have their own "pet brands" of their own, that are all high quality. I find these better than Spartan or Meijer, or any other house brands. This is NOT a great place for produce, or silly organic crap if that's your thing, but everything else is great. The location on Division by 68th has the BEST meat section in town. They have the best steaks and ground beef, and are a ridiculously good value.

Great prices. But really long lines. And customers inside are rude.

I Hate That DIRTY, Ratchet, Disgusting, & Trifling Store. It's Poorly Managed. & ALL The People They Got Rid Of Should Have Stayed. My Whole Family & Myself Now Shop At Meijer, & Meijer Only. F.ck This Particular SAVE A LOT. The Owners Are CROOOOOKED.
